Warehouse Racking Solutions

Maximise Storage Capacity. Improve Warehouse Efficiency. Build for Growth.

Sinto Material Handling supplies and designs professional warehouse racking systems for businesses across Africa, helping organisations maximise available floor and vertical space while creating safer, more organised and more efficient storage environments.

Complete Warehouse Racking Solutions for Africa

Every warehouse has different requirements. A small distribution centre may need simple pallet racking, while a large manufacturing facility may require a 30–40 metre automated high-bay warehouse integrated with stacker cranes, shuttle robots and warehouse-control software.

Our warehouse racking solutions can be configured for palletised goods, cartons, totes, industrial components, raw materials, finished products, heavy equipment and automated storage systems.

Through our partnership with leading warehouse-automation technology providers, Sinto can offer solutions ranging from conventional steel storage racks to high-density AS/RS automated racking systems.

We design around your specific requirements

📐 Warehouse & Load

  • Warehouse dimensions
  • Ceiling height & floor area
  • Pallet dimensions & load weight
  • Number of SKUs
  • Required storage capacity

🔄 Operations & Flow

  • Stock rotation (FIFO / LIFO)
  • Forklift access
  • Picking requirements
  • Automation requirements

📈 Growth & Future

  • Future expansion
  • Scalable design
  • Integration with WMS/WCS

Our Warehouse Racking Portfolio

From conventional pallet storage to fully automated high-bay systems, we offer a comprehensive range of racking solutions.

1. AS/RS Racking

Automated Storage & Retrieval System Racking

AS/RS racking is designed for businesses looking to maximise warehouse density while automating the storage and retrieval of goods. Supports high-bay designs from approximately 7 to 40 metres, integrated with stacker cranes, shuttle robots and WCS systems.

✅ Key Benefits

  • High-density storage
  • Better utilisation of vertical space
  • Automated storage and retrieval
  • Reduced aisle requirements
  • Improved inventory control
  • Reduced manual handling
  • Higher storage capacity
  • Scalable warehouse design
  • Integration with WMS/WCS
  • Suitable for high-throughput operations
Capacity increase: AS/RS solutions can increase storage capacity by 3–10 times in suitable applications through better utilisation of available space.

2. Selective Pallet Racking

One of the most versatile warehouse storage systems. Provides direct access to individual pallets, particularly suitable for warehouses handling many different SKUs.

🎯 Ideal for:

Distribution centres Retail warehouses FMCG Spare parts Manufacturing Food & beverage General logistics

✅ Advantages

  • Direct pallet access
  • Adjustable beam levels
  • Flexible configuration
  • Easy forklift access
  • Simple expansion
  • Suitable for FIFO inventory management

3. Drive-In Racking

Designed for warehouses where high storage density is more important than direct access to every pallet. Forklifts enter the rack structure to load and retrieve pallets.

🎯 Ideal for:

Cold storage Bulk storage High-volume products Few SKUs Seasonal inventory Large quantities of similar goods
Best for: Operations where storage density outweighs the need for individual pallet access.

4. Mobile Racking

Racks on powered bases that move along rails. Instead of maintaining a permanent aisle between every rack row, the system opens an aisle only where required.

✅ Benefits

  • Increased storage density
  • Better floor-space utilisation
  • Reduced fixed aisle space
  • Improved storage capacity
  • Controlled access
  • Suitable for high-value inventory
Perfect when warehouse floor space is expensive or limited.

5. Flow Racking

Uses gravity or powered roller systems to move goods through the rack. Useful where stock rotation and picking efficiency are important.

📦 Applications

FMCG Food & beverage Distribution centres Spare parts Retail High-volume picking

🔄 Inventory

Flow-rack systems can be configured to support appropriate FIFO inventory processes.

6. Cantilever Racking

Designed specifically for long, bulky or irregularly shaped products that cannot easily be stored on conventional pallet racks. Uses vertical columns with horizontal arms that support the load.

🎯 Ideal for:

Steel sections Pipes Timber Aluminium profiles PVC products Construction materials Long industrial components Furniture Building materials

7. Heavy-Duty Industrial Racking

For manufacturing, engineering and industrial customers. Storage systems designed around heavier loads.

🏗️ Applications

Machinery components Automotive parts Mining spares Industrial equipment Steel products Engineering components Heavy pallets Raw materials

Load capacity is engineered according to rack configuration, beam dimensions, upright design, number of levels and loading conditions.

8. Automated Pallet Racking

For high-volume warehouses, pallet racking integrated with automated handling equipment — creating an integrated automated warehouse rather than simply a static storage system.

⚙️ Integration Options

AS/RS Racking Stacker Cranes Shuttle Robots Conveyors WCS WMS

9. Mini-Load AS/RS Racking

For smaller products, cartons, totes and containers. High-density automated storage for small-unit loads.

📦 Ideal for:

Spare parts Electronics Small components Pharmaceutical products E-commerce Automotive components Manufacturing parts

10. Tote & Bin Storage Racking

For smaller products — storage configurations designed around plastic totes, cartons, bins, small containers and component trays. Particularly suitable for goods-to-person operations and high-SKU environments.

Includes: Tote AS/RS configurations using shuttle and robotic technologies.

High-Density AS/RS Warehousing

Turn Your Vertical Space Into Storage Capacity. One of the biggest challenges facing modern warehouses is that businesses often have significant unused vertical space.
